CVU Sønderjylland
CVU Sønderjylland (Centre for Higher Education South Jutland) was founded in 2002 as a merger of several institutions:

  • College of Teacher Education, Haderslev
  • Colleges for Social Educators, Haderslev and Aabenraa
  • Nursing School of South Jutland, Sønderborg
  • Hojer College of Visual Comminication, Hojer

In December 2005 CVU Sønderjylland was acknowledged as a University College.

CVU Sønderjylland has about 2,800 students and 285 employees and the main campus is situated in the medieval town of Haderslev (30,000 inhabitants), 50 kilometres north of the Danish-German border.

Also located in Haderslev: the departments of In-Service Training and Diploma Studies, Research and Educational Development, and the International Relations.

Academic year: Autumn term: mid-August to December. Spring term: mid-January to May - very few lessons are offered after Easter.

Peak competences: E-learning and distance education, health promotion, educationg and supporting children with special needs, organization and leadership, evaluation.

CVU sønderjylland is involved in several international projects supported by the Comenius and Erasmus programmes, Nordplus and Interreg.
