Evaluation - Definition
Evaluation is a strategy / tool
- to get (ongoing) feedback that can be used in order to optimize newly developed interventions (Qualitätssteigerung durch formative Evaluation).
- to investige the effectiveness of an intervention; terminal evaluation is part of a professional quality insurance insofar as results inform practicioners whether they have reached (self-) defined standards ("Qualitätssicherung" durch summative Evaluation)
With respect to the evaluation of the Includeme-project, therefore, some procedural-organisational stipulations have to be made concerning
- the goals / criterias for evaluation and subgroups to be adressed
- the instruments to assess central constructs (Description of the present state)
- norms (states to be strive for) as a base for the evaluation of results; interpretations can be made using different (times of) references:
- Content-based norms (Kriteriale Bezugsnorm; e.g. oriented on existing academic standards)
- Temporal comparisons (changes in terms of differences between pre- and post-tests)
- Social comparisons (differences in attitudes or competences of participants and a matched group of persons)
